Allan W. Perry, Jr., M.D.

A Southern California native, Dr. Allan W. Perry, Jr. has been exposed to medicine and plastic surgery his entire life. He completed his graduate studies at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine and chose to practice plastic surgery because he realized he could not only improve the function and appearance of his patients but would also have a profoundly positive affect on their self-image and psyche. Dr. Perry, Jr. completed his plastic surgery residency at Wright State University in Ohio.

Dr. Perry, Jr. is a member of numerous organizations and societies. He was Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons in 1994 and currently belongs to the California Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Perry, Jr. is also a member of the Los Angeles County Medical Association, the California Medical Association, and the American Medical Association, and is a candidate for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has been named Foothill's Best Plastic Surgeon and plays an active role in his community as a member of the La Canada Kiwanis Club.

Beyond maintaining his practice and affiliation with various organizations, Dr. Perry, Jr. lends a helping hand to underprivileged families as Medical Director of the Cleft Palate Program. This clinic began seven years ago at the White Memorial Medical Center in East Los Angeles and has cared for over 300 children with cleft lips and palates. Dr. Perry, Jr.'s greatest reward for his efforts with the Cleft Palate Program is seeing the smiling faces of the children he has treated.

When he is away from the office, Dr. Perry, Jr. can be found bike riding around La Canada, snow skiing at Mammoth Mountain, water skiing at Lake Powell, or golfing with his son all over Southern California. Dr. Perry, Jr. receives the most satisfaction in his profession from interacting with his patients and helping each of them achieve their physical and mental goals.

Dr. Allan W. Perry began his career as a missionary in a Kenyan hospital where he worked with burn and trauma victims, as well as a large number of patients who required cleft lip and cleft palate surgery. Through the course of his five-year assignment in Kenya, Dr. Perry, Sr. became interested in plastic surgery. Upon his return to California, Dr. Perry, Sr. completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of California, Los Angeles and became Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 1974.

Following his certification, Dr. Perry, Sr. established his own practice and has received national recognition in the field of plastic surgery. Dr. Perry, Sr. has been an active participant in academia, aiding in the establishment of the plastic surgery program at the University of Southern California and serving on the faculty at both USC and UCLA Medical Schools. In 1983, Dr. Perry, Sr. was recognized as KNX Radio's Citizen of the Week for plastic surgery and was named one of L.A.’s Best Doctors in 1996. He was also given the America's Top Surgeons Award for plastic surgery in 2002 and was recognized as one of the Best Doctors in America in 1996, 2001, and 2004. He currently belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Always volunteering himself to medicine, Dr. Perry, Sr. has been a member of Liga International since 1973 and served as president of the association for three years. Since joining, Dr. Perry, Sr. has made over 50 trips to Mexico to perform free cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries for those in need. He has made similar visits to Ecuador and Kenya.

Dr. Perry, Sr. is a busy man in and out of the office. In his free time, he enjoys flying and traveling, especially to places where he can scuba dive and brush up on his underwater photography. He is an active member of his community through his participation in the La Canada Kiwanis Club and is also a member of Christian Edition, a men’s chorus, where he loves recording songs and performing concerts. Dr. Perry, Sr. takes the most pleasure in improving the quality of life of his patients by performing plastic surgery.
